American musician and actor Awkwafina debuted with sly hip-hop tracks that addressed sexual identity and race with a an incisive and humorous perspective, before expanding her reach into Hollywood. Nora Lum began her musical career as a musician on the trumpet. She was born in Forest Hills Queens, she was a child of Chinese immigrants as well as Korean immigrants. Apart from classical music and jazz, Nora Lum began studying hip-hop in her teens.
