Belknap was born in Damariscotta Maine. She is the daughter of David Belknap and Louise Belknap. She went to Lincoln Academy in Newcastle Maine. It was during this time that acting became her main interest when she attended Middlebury College Vermont. Then she attended the American Conservatory Theater earning a Master of Fine Arts degree. Belknap has appeared on a number of TV shows, like Medical Investigations (related with ER & Third Watch) & The Handler. In her role, she also appeared on Law & Order Law & Special Victims of the Order, Without a Trace, Deadline, and recurring in Deadline.
